Maneuver Training with accommodation

Do you want to confidently control your boat in the narrowest harbors and on the open water? Learn from professional instructors, gain real-world experience, and become a confident captain!

Course Objective

During the training, we jump straight into practice after a quick review of the theoretical basics. Onboard our modern training boat, under the guidance of an experienced skipper, you will learn step by step the maneuvers that boaters find the most challenging. The focus is on precision, safety, and stress-free boat handling.

  • Practice-oriented focus: No unnecessary theory—almost the entire course is dedicated to practical onboard training.
  • Small group training: Every participant is guaranteed plenty of time at the helm to practice.
  • Accommodation included: After each day’s 4–6 hours of practical training, participants can relax and stay overnight onboard.

Program

Day 1 – Basics and Getting Comfortable with Marina Routines

  • Introduction to the boat and onboard systems: A thorough overview of the lines, engines, steering system, and safety equipment.
  • Basic maneuvering exercises: Getting familiar with the boat’s inertia, turning radius, and the effects of wind on open water.
  • Leaving and entering the marina: Practicing departure from and arrival at the marina under various wind and current conditions.

Day 2 – Advanced Marina Maneuvers and Precision Steering

  • Mooring and docking: Practicing different scenarios (alongside docking and stern-to mooring) and line configurations.
  • Maneuvering in tight spaces: Learning how to move safely in crowded marinas.
  • Reversing and turning: Performing precise reverse maneuvers and tight turns in a marina environment.

Day 3 – Complex Scenarios and Individual Fine-Tuning

  • Mooring to a buoy and departing: Learning safe techniques for approaching and leaving a mooring buoy.
  • Complex docking maneuvers: Practicing various emergency and unexpected scenarios.
  • Practical review and individual coaching: Personalized feedback and additional practice on any maneuvers requiring further improvement.

What to Bring

To ensure your time onboard is comfortable and safe, please bring the following:

  • Official documents: A valid ID card or passport.
  • Clothing: Comfortable, layered clothing suitable for the current weather conditions.
  • Footwear: Non-slip boat shoes with white or light-colored soles that will not leave marks on the deck.
  • Protection and comfort: Sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and a windproof and waterproof jacket.
